CURRENT FALL HOURS on the CRAB DECK

MONDAY : Closed
TUESDAY - FRIDAY : Open at 2 pm
SATURDAY, SUNDAY : Open at 12 pm
The Crab Deck has been around since 1991 and has undergone many changes. The all-wood construction and open-air feel give Willy's it's charm. The large windows, the high ceiling, and all the decorations help to give Wet Willy's it's little island feel. A nice escape from the reality we deal with every day.
It is our commitment to serve you the biggest, meatiest crabs available.
In helping you understand the life cycle of the blue crab we hope to shed light on that big question, "Why are your crabs lighter some days and heavier on others?"
Crabs grow with the cycle of the moon. Approximately one week before a full moon, crabs begin a shedding process which enables them to shed their shells in order to grow. During this stage, they are known as soft-shell crabs. Within hours their shells begin to harden, and they once again become the colorful blue crab. During their shell genesis, they are known as paper shell crabs. The demand is so high that the Waterman harvest these crabs, whether they are light or heavy. The Waterman then set the price based on the size not weight. Size is determined by the distance between the outermost points on the top of the shell. We all know that it's not the size of the shell but the weight of the crab that matters. Wet Willy's now "scale weighs" each and every crab, making sure that you get what you pay for, (even though this is labor intensive, we feel that you're worth it). We hope this will help you understand the conditions we face, while trying to fulfill our commitment to you.
We sincerely hope you enjoy your visit and we hope to see you again!
